Welcome to the Ardvullin House | Sleeps 18

Ardvullin is a beautiful 18th century former ghillie’s cottage which is now owned by HopScotch Children’s Charity. The lovingly restored house provides a warm and welcoming environment to enjoy the stunning surroundings of the West Highlands.

For much of the year Ardvullin is run as a respite centre for children in Scotland who have no other chance of a holiday. However, during the winter season and every weekend throughout the year the house is available for private self-catering lets. The proceeds generated by these lets provides HopScotch Children’s Charity with an ongoing income to support their work. A stay at Ardvullin is not simply a chance to have a wonderful holiday, it is also a way to support the work of the charity.

Ardvullin was originally built in 1780 as a ghillie’s cottage, and was further extended in 1800 and 1860 to create a much grander highland home. The house can now accommodate up to 18 people in comfort, with the added attraction of the spectacular scenery right outside the door. Ardvullin sits in peaceful tranquillity within 5 acres of grounds, including a wonderful adventure playground. Cradled by sheltered woodlands and moors to the rear, the house also has lovely gardens running down towards a delightful inland loch. Beyond, the beauty of Loch Linnhe and the surrounding grandeur of the Ardnamurchan Peninsula provide an inviting gateway to the highlands.

'We have stayed at Ardvullin House on several occasions with a large group of friends, 17 including children. I have recommended Ardvullin to other friends who have booked and rebooked because they love it just as much as we do. The house is clean and the gardens are stunning and safe. The garden is full of good quality equipment to wear your smaller people out while the kitchen is very well equipped with a large table to sit at and chew the fat with friends.  Equally it has a large living room with plenty of sofas and toys in addition to the toy room.  There really something for all ages and the biggest bonus is the stunning surrounding countryside. Don't think about booking, just book!'

“Ardvullin is such a fun place and a great escape with everything around you to nurture the imagination.”

‘We have stayed at Ardvullin three times and book a weekend there every year with three other families. Our children are always super excited about going.  It’s such a fantastic place for a mini-break – the location is brilliant and so private and secure.  The facilities for the children are totally unmatchable.  Where else can you have your own private adventure playground, a room full of games and dressing up clothes, and not to forget the air-hockey in the living room!  The kitchen is a fantastic space for adults to relax over a glass or two, whilst the children are totally occupied.   I would highly recommend the house for a cost-effective get away with friends and family’.
