This privacy policy sets out how Ardvullin House/HopScotch Children's Charity uses and protects any information that you give us when you use this website or contact us, and how we process and store your personal information in general. Ardvullin House/HopScotch Children's Charity is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected.

Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website or when providing information to us to allow you to rent Ardvullin House, then you can be assured that it will be only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

Ardvullin House/HopScotch Children's Charity may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes. This policy is effective from 20 May 2018.

If you have given us your consent to receive communications by email, have been or will be a guest of ours, or you have previously asked us for information, we may send you newsletters or funding information by email. However every newsletter or information email we send you will give you the opportunity to unsubscribe from our mailings altogether.

Ardvullin House

Ardvullin is a beautiful 18th century former ghillie's cottage which is now owned by HopScotch Children's Charity. The lovingly restored house provides a warm and welcoming environment to enjoy the stunning surroundings of the West Highlands.

For much of the year Ardvullin is run as a respite centre for children in Scotland who have no other chance of a holiday. However, during the winter season and every weekend throughout the year the house is available for private self-catering lets. The proceeds generated by these lets provides HopScotch Children's Charity with an ongoing income to support their work. A stay at Ardvullin is not simply a chance to have a wonderful holiday, it is also a way to support the work of the charity.

What do we collect and what do we need your personal data for?

Booking information

We may collect the following information:

• name
• contact information including email address
• age
• demographic information such as postcode
• nationality

We require this information for the following reasons:

• in the event of an emergency/accident
• insurance purposes
• for security deposit in the case of damages to the property
• to comply with the Immigration (Hotel Records) Order 1972
• we may use this information to improve our services
• we may use this information to customise the website

We will only do the following with your permission:

• periodically send our newsletter and emails about events or other information which we think you may find interesting, using the email address which you have provided in the areas you have signed up for

We will not:

• we will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties
• we will not use your personal information to send you promotional information about third parties
• we won't contact you without your permission

Why do we do this?:

• we want to keep you in touch with details of Ardvullin House. We aim to tailor the information we send to what you are interested in

• Data Portability: you can ask us to provide your personal information about you that we have, which you have provided, in a simple, easily readable way. You may ask us to transmit it directly to another controller if it is technically feasible
• Correction: if you believe that any information we are holding about you is incorrect or incomplete, please write to or email us as soon as possible at the above address. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect. We will endeavour to get back to you within 72 hours.
• Deletion: individuals have the right to have personal data erased or deleted, known as the 'right to be forgotten', without any undue delay. You can ask us to delete (erase) any personal information about you which you later withdraw your consent to processing, or when it is no longer needed for the the purpose it was originally collected, without undue delay. If you have previously agreed to us using your personal information for direct marketing purposes, you may change your mind at any time by writing to us at the above address or emailing [email protected]
• Processing Restrictions: you can request the restriction or suppression of your personal data although it is not an absolute right and only applies in certain circumstances. While we process your request, we are permitted to store your personal data but not use it. You can make this request verbally or in writing. You can ask us to temporarily restrict our processing of your personal information if:

1. you contest the accuracy of your personal information
2. you prefer we restrict its use rather than erase it
3. you need it to be preserved to establish or defend a legal claim
4. whilst you are verifying whether we have overriding legitimate grounds to use it

• Complaints: our aim it to respond to any complaint around privacy matters you may have within 30 days of receipt of your correspondence. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office online

You always have the right to object to receiving direct marketing from us even if we believe that we have a legitimate interest to communicate with you in this way.
